Enterprise computing presents an array of challenges for IS managers. Powerful, network-based computing environments require comprehensive support and versatile tools to streamline and automate specific support tasks. SunSoft offers a family of Enterprise Management products that provides a functionally integrated solution to lower the total cost of managing enterprises. Focused on network and systems management, the SunSoft products coupled with third-party offerings provide complete solutions for enterprise management.

The Solstice(TM) Partners Program, designed to assist developers in creating solutions integrated with SunSoft's enterprise management products, is a Catalyst technology program that provides development support and creates business opportunities for participating members. Integration with SunSoft's Enterprise Management products gives developers the benefit of being part of a larger solution such as SunNet Manager(TM), the leading UNIX-based network management platform, and advanced storage management software including NetWorker for Solaris(TM). By becoming a member of the Solstice Partners Program, developers can take advantage of the next generation of enterprise management products, system administration tools, and data management applications.

Device vendors or Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) participating in the Solstice Partners Program will receive all of the benefits of membership in Catalyst, SunSoft's developer support program, plus additional focused support for application development. Solstice Partners can take full advantage of the resources and expertise offered by SunSoft to ensure their products gain high acceptance and visibility in the enterprise management market. Qualified partners may receive early access to new technologies and support for developing leading edge products. They may also leverage Catalyst marketing services to create higher demand for their products.

Program Features

There are two categories of Solstice Partners: Solstice Preferred Partners and Solstice Power Partners.

Solstice Preferred Partners

Solstice Preferred Partners are experienced integrators or vendors with applications that are launched from the menu bar or include agents and MIBs that are integral to a complete enterprise management solution. This program is also open to vendors developing applications for the Enterprise Management platform, but whose applications may not use the Enterprise Management Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) or may not be available on the latest release. As a Preferred Partner, you will receive all Catalyst program benefits, including:

Solstice Preferred Partners will also receive special mailings and invitations to semi-annual partner meetings. In addition, the Solstice Partners Program makes it easy for members to reach the Sun sales force by providing a server to showcase partner software and documentation.

Solstice Power Partners

Power Partners include vendors who tightly integrate their applications with an Enterprise Management platform to provide key components of a complete enterprise management solution. These partners agree to certify their applications with the latest release of theEnterprise Management product to ensure compatibility and functionality.
